Hidden behind Discovery School’s parking lot and school office is a child’s paradise.  Surrounding our spacious, air-conditioned, and child friendly classrooms are two and a half acres of beautifully shaded, lush grounds.  Tricycle paths wind through acres of fully matured trees, sand bunkers connected by bridges, play villages, and a sports court.

Bringing learning outdoors and into nature is an important aspect to our curriculum.

The Discovery School Garden

Our garden provides children with the opportunity to plant vegetables, watch them grow, and later prepare them for snack, lunch, or the Discovery School Farmer’s Market.

The Discovery School Farm

The Discovery School Farm is a highlight for allowing children a hands-on experience with goats, sheep, a cow, a llama, chickens, rabbits, birds, tortoises, and of course, our two friendly pigs.  Spending time with the animals, feeding them, and caring for them teaches the children about the animal kingdom and various animal habitats and most importantly, about the responsibility of caring for animals while gaining respect and appreciation for all living things.

Discovery Zone

The Discovery Zone allows young scientists the opportunity to ask questions, experiment, and make discoveries through hands-on learning.  Microscopes, magnets, magnifying glasses, and cylinders, are some of the child friendly science tools which bring the opportunity for discovery to the tips of our students’ busy little fingers.  Putting a white lab coat on is just the beginning to the many adventures that take place in our Discovery Zone.

Computer Lab and Library

Stories and books spark the imagination and are full of adventures and learning.  Discovery School knows this and appreciates what literature offers young children.  Our library provides the children with a wide range of books to explore in addition to the books available to them in the classrooms.

As technology advances, quickly, young children are curious and are eager to learn about the fundamentals of computers and the many other instruments now available to them.  At Discovery School, children have access to computers, iPads, and a Smartboard.
