A Morning with Creature Critters

On Wednesday, September 17, Creature Critters came to Discovery. Our children met animals up close. Visiting teachers led the morning and left plenty of room for questions.
Meeting a live animal in person is a great way to spark a lifelong love for nature. When kids watch an animal move, breathe, and interact up close, they naturally get curious and start asking big questions about the world around them. Spending time with animals also helps young children learn how to be independent and take on small responsibilities. By watching how animals react in real time, kids sharpen their observation skills and learn to focus on the details. Plus, being gentle with a living creature teaches them how to be empathetic and kind toward others, just as they learn to be with their friends in class. These hands-on experiences are more than just fun; they help children build a real, lasting connection to the natural world.
Mornings like this are part of the nature-rich days we love, right beside our campus farm.
